Flying from USA to Hanoi, or Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam will depend on the city you’re traveling from.
If you’re flying out from west coast, Seattle, it would take you approximately 18 hours of flight to land in Hanoi. If you’re flying out from an east coast, New York, the approximate flying time to Hanoi would be 21 hours.
Do I need a visa?
Visa requirements for Vietnam depend on your nationality. Travelers from the US, Australia, Canada, the UK, and most European countries must apply for a visa before arriving in Vietnam.

What do I need to check in my passport before trip to Vietnam?
Your passport should have at least two blank pages, and should be valid for at least six months after your planned departure date from Vietnam.
How should I dress when visiting Vietnam?
If visiting Vietnam during spring, summer, or early autumn months, we suggest loose and comfortable clothing. If traveling during the winter months, specially in Hanoi and north, carrying a jacket is recommended. You’ll also need a walking shoes.

What are the best ways to travel around Vietnam?
For longer distances such as Hanoi to Saigon, fight is the best way (~2.5 hours). There are basically frequent flights, within the cities in Vietnam.
Modern coaches with air conditioning are used on our sightseeing, as well as short excursions to the countryside and longer transfers where necessary. We use air-conditioned vehicles suitable for the size of the tour.
Junk boat and cruises are used on tours which have a cruising days, from river cruising on the Mekong to comfortable, well-equipped 4-5 star sailing vessels on Halong Bay.

Is tipping common in Vietnam?
Tipping is not mandatory in Vietnam, but this has always been appreciated, so, we suggest carrying smaller notes in case you’d like to tip. You can also tip your driver, porter, or your tour guide if you are happy with the quality of service provided. We recommend USD5/day.
What is the currency of Vietnam?
Vietnamese dong (₫) or VND is the official currency and is available in denominations from 10 to 500,000 dong. You can withdraw money from the ATMs in all major cities, the withdraw fee is around 25,000 to 55,000 dong (1-2.5 USD).
International credit & debit cards can be used at ATMs and all hotels in major towns. For small purchases and paying street vendors, cash is the king.

When is the Vietnam's public holidays?
Public holidays: Vietnamese New Year, otherwise known as Tet, moves according to the lunar calendar, usually falling in late January or early February. Celebrations last up to ten days. Some businesses may be closed and tourist sites may be busier. And touring within this period required an early booking with surcharge of 20-30% or higher.

What's food like in Vietnam?
Vietnamese food is known for its fresh ingredients. Dishes are packed with flavour from the fish sauce, soy sauce, fresh herbs, lemongrass, garlic, ginger and mint. The cuisine inspired by Chinese.
Keep an eye out for pho – a beef or chicken noodle soup that’s often eaten at breakfast. Bahn xeo (pancakes filled with pork, veggies and eggs) and gio cuon (spring rolls overflowing with fresh greens and minced pork or fish) are also worth a try. Delicious!
Is it safe to travel to Vietnam?
Vietnam is a very safe country to travel around. Petty crimes, theft, pick-pocketing is very rare. But just like anywhere else in the world, it’s important to be aware of your surroundings and use your common sense, especially in overcrowded places and when using public transport.
What to pack for my holiday?
Vietnam enjoys different climate, you’ll need to pack along light/thin clothing as well as some warmer options for the evenings (especially in Sapa and the North in December/January/February). We recommend bringing layers of clothing that you can remove or add to depending on a place you visit.
Do I need vaccinations for traveling in Vietnam
No vaccinations are required before traveling to Vietnam. However, for long term travelers, we do recommend a number of vaccinations such as DTP, hepatitis A and typhoid & Malaria. For up-to-date information, always consult with doctor and remember to never drink the tap water unless it’s filtered.
Will I visit Halong Bay on your Trips?
Definitely, we do recommend it. Halong Bay, or Ha Long as local say it, is one of the best & must see sites in Vietnam and if you book a holiday with us, we include an overnight stay on board the wooden junk cruise with swimming, kayaking and visits to caves and grottoes. The overnight cruise stay is also included breakfast, lunch and dinner.
