Day 1 Ho Chi Minh City
Welcome to Saigon, meet and transfer with your tour manager and guide, check in and the rest of the day is at your leisure to relax and or get familiar with the city and its vibrant atmosphere.
Day 2 Mekong waterways
Good morning and pick up after breakfast to travel to the Mekong Delta. Check in and board the Sampan to cruise around the lush waterways in Cai Be. Your tour includes several stops to visit the islands and finally enjoy lunch at a local stilt house on Dong Hoa Hiep Island. We end the day exploring the mighty waterways and transfer to our beautiful hotel in Can Tho (1 hour ride).
Day 3 Saigon
Start the day by touring the lively vibrant Cai Rang, one of the most visited floating markets in all Asia, where life comes busy as locals sell their fresh veggies, foods & fruits on the water. Next drive back to Saigon to enjoy a leisurely walking tour to visit the city’s iconic landmarks including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Post Office plus visiting the War Remnants Museum.
Day 4 Cu Chi Tunnels, Phnom Penh Cambodia
Excursion to visit secrets of Cu Chi Tunnels built by the Viet-Cong during the 1960’s. Walk down the trails and check the remaining traps, living quarters, factories and warfare while having a chance to get down to the parts of the tunnels (safely remodeled for the visitors), next, those who are interested in shooting, can get the M16‘s and AK47 on the firing spot. Time to say goodbye to Vietnam, check out and cross the border to Cambodia, drive to the capital Phnom Penh. Arrive and check in.
Day 5 Tour tragic history of Phnom Penh
Pop up to enjoy a full day guided tour in Phnom Penh, Firstly, we head to visit the lavish National Museum and its Fine Arts, here we visit a great Khmer sculpture’s collection. Next, the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, with thousands of diamonds. Next, time to get closer to the tragic history of the city back in Pol Pot regime, here visit Toul Sleng, also known as the Security Prison – S21, the site used to be a school that was brutally converted as a torture chamber, we the visit the Killing Fields where over 10,000 khmer were executed.
Day 6 Angkor temples private tour
Today we will take a short flight to Siem Reap. Arrive and check in, short rest, get together to visit the historic Angkor Thom, the monument stands 100m wide and its known for the huge statue that is visible down from every angle. Continue to Preah Khan complex before heading to magnificent Angkor Wat, believed to be the largest religious building in the world. Time to explore and discover the massive temples on a full guided tour. Back to the hotel and enjoy the walking tour in the old market in the evening.
Day 7 Ta Phrohm – Banteay Srei
An early morning opt to visit Angkor Wat to see the temples shading on the golden lights. Next, head out to Banteay Srei , believed to be one of the picturesque among all the temples in Angkor complex, the Hindu temple is dedicated to Shiva.
The temple expedition continues with visits to Banteay Samre, East Mebon, Pre Rup, Preah Khan, Banteay Kdei and the atmospheric Ta Prohm. Swallowed by the jungle, vast muscular roots envelop the crumbling towers and walls whilst the trees’ foliage dapples the temple in shadow. End the day, back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
There are plenty of great bars and restaurants in the compact city centre, easily navigated on foot.
Day 8 Tonle Sap lake & floating villages
This morning we will visit the floating village of Kompong Pluk, where houses are built on soaring stilts hovering over the Tonle Sap Lake whilst nearby, the petrified trees of a flooded forest are revealed whenever the water level drops. After a boat trip on the lake we return to Siem Reap.
Afternoon is free for you to spend at leisure.
Day 9 Departure day
End of the 9 day Vietnam Cambodia tour. Enjoy the leisure breakfast at the hotel, check out and transfer to the airport.
