Vietnamese celebrates the National day each year on 2nd of September. This is a very special day, which declares the Independence of Vietnam France. In 2019, Vietnam celebrates its 73rd independence.

The celebration of Vietnam Independence Day will take place on Ba Dinh Square near the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, the fire works and other national day celebrations will be hold in big cities, if you are in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), you can visit Dam Sen Park in District 11 and join the crowd.

However, Hanoi may be quiet during the National Day, even though it is the capital city of Vietnam. This is because most of the city’s population will travel. In Hanoi, you can see ornate decorations in the streets and can attend many cultural and other performances.

If you are traveling in Vietnam on Independence Day, you may realize that all government agencies and businesses are closed on September 2nd. International airports and all land checkpoints remain open. Book your hotel and tour a head of time and try to sort out your visa as visa will not be issued on this day.

On the National Day of Vietnam, locals and leaders of Vietnam pay homage to the national hero, Ho Chi Minh, and recognize their contribution to the independence of this country. The Declaration of Independence of Vietnam contains this important sentence: “All the peoples of the world are equal from birth, all peoples have the right to live, and to be happy and free.”

Vietnam army’s parade for National Day anniversary

To commemorate the National day of Vietnam on September 2nd of each year, a national parade and activities will be held at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi. The event usually included torch possession, salute to the national flag, parade and other related activities by the Vietnam’s army. The organizing committee and the police strengthened coordination to ensure order and safety, as well as directing the circulation of vehicles for the success of the trial.

More than 30 thousand people will march on the morning of September 2 from Ba Dinh Square to the Hanoi;s streets of Nguyen Thai Hoc, Kim Ma, Lieu Giai, Hang Khay, Trang Tien and the Opera House, where huge screens will be placed to broadcast the event for Vietnam Independent day. Fireworks shows in greeting of that event will also be launched simultaneously at 9:00 p.m. local time at five spot in Hanoi, including the lakes of Hoan Kiem, West and Van Quan, Thong Nhat Park and My Dinh National Stadium.
