Get closer to modern life while seeing the recent history in in Ho Chi Minh City (aka Saigon), next, take time out in pretty Hoi An with its glazing past. Spend a night aboard a Vietnamese style junk boat in Halong Bay, cruise the scenic Mekong Delta, famous as a rice baskets of the country.

Day 1 – Welcome to Hanoi

Welcome to Hanoi. Airport pock up and arrival transfer. If your flight arrive early, you may have a quick tour to visit Hanoi’s busy streets in the old quarter and or the charming Hoan Kiem lake.

Day 2 – Hanoi – Halong Bay

This morning we leave for a 2 hours scenic ride through the red river delta to the majestic Halong bay. Arrive, check in to board the beautiful wooden junk boat, time for lunch while enjoying the fantastic view. over 2,000 limestone islets and plinths rise out from the emerald waters to make up the exquisite Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In the afternoon,  visit Tien Ong caves (there are over 60 different caves), and beach for swimming. In the evening, there will be cooking demonstration before enjoying the delicious fresh buffet dinner.

Day 3 – Halong – Hanoi – Night Train to Hue

Start your day differently, there is a relaxing Tai Chi class for the early birds on the upper deck. After breakfast, there is enough time for a thrilling kayaking through the turquoises waters and the Floating Villages, its interesting to see how fisherman families been living on the waters for generations.

Time to depart, check out and transfer back to Hanoi. We’ll experience the busy streets in the French Quarter on cyclo (rickshaws), passing through the Opera house and surrounded areas. We then have time to walk through ‘tiny streets of the Hanoi old quarter.

In the evening, board the renowned Reunification Express train, check in the 4 berth basic standard cabin to Hue.

Day 4 – Private City Tour of Hue

Today we embark on a full day private tour of Hue visiting the 19th-century Nguyen empire dynasty. Visit the Thien Mu Pagoda, the complex is known as the symbol for Hue. Next, visit imperial Purple Palace and the surrounding ancient ruins including numerous temples royal Itombs dates back to the Nguyen kings.

Tonight, there is an optional cruise through the beautifully lighted Perfume River in Hue.

Day 5 – Scenic ride from Hue to Hoi An

Moving to postcard Hoi An passing through scenic Hai Van Pass, to many, this is known as the Ocean clouds, the picturesque views over the beach and the lush forest brings an extraordinary experience. We can stop to walk the magnificent coastline (the scene from the movie Apocalypse Now). Time and weather permit, we may take a refreshing swim as well.

Hoi An, definitely has something for anyone, this UNESCO listed charming town is a place lost in time. Once a major trading port of South East Asia, this charming town still retains its well-kept original historic buildings and ancient backstreets and has become a favourite for today’s visitors. It is also the best place for bargain priced, tailor- made clothes.

We take you on a walking tour visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Hall together with century’s old Tam Ky mansion, and the symbol of the ancient town, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge.

Optional activities including back street food tour, or, long tail boat through the river.

Day 6 – Hoi An – Explore Tra Que village

Hoi an is pretty much know as its lush countrysides, today, we take a fun bicycle ride (3 km) to nearby Tra Que. There are dozens of things to do in this pretty village, farming, ways to make traditional medicine cooking with locals and much more.

Day 7 – Hoi An Free Day

Hoi An at your own, make it a relaxing one and or take some other optional tours to visit Vietnam’s Cham holy sites, perhaps the Quang Ngai, the site of the My Lai massacre from the war. Relaxing at the nearby beaches could also be another possibility.

Cai Be Mekong Delta

Day 8- Floating markets at Cai Be

Mekong awaits. Today, fly to Ho Chi Minh City via Danang. Arrive, transfer to Cai Be, known as the Rice Basket of Vietnam, the Mekong Delta is the world’s largest exporting region of rice. Home to over 20 million Vietnamese, this is a world of waterways, backwaters and canals, always influenced by the whims of the river system. The Delta is an ideal place to experience the life of a local Vietnamese farmers.

Board the local Sampan at Cai Be to cruise through the maze of coconut waterways, watching the house boats and how slow the life is passing by. On stop, we visit coco candies. Later enjoy the delicious lunch served today in a stilt local home on Dong Hoa Hiep Island.

Cai Rang floating market

Day 9- Cai Rang Floating Market

Join an early tour the iconic Cai Rang floating market. Watch the daily life of the locals as basically they do pretty much anything from A to Z on the water, The vegetables, fruit market are the brilliant ones. Later, departure and drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.

The city is the forefront of the modernization and expansion in Vietnam. Despite this, there are still many historical sights and locations to see and visit in the city. Check in and short rest, join the walking tour and the visits includes the Notre Dame Cathedral and the adjoining old Post office and the vast War Remnants Museum.

Muong Thanh Centre, or Odys Hotel → Deluxe King Room. Meal: B

People's Committee Building - Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - French colonial city hall built in the early 1900s, now the headquarters of the People's Committee. Top tourist attraction being located so close to the cathedral.

Day 10- Ho Chi Minh City – End of the tour

A free day to enjoy Ho Chi Minh City at your own leisure. Visit souvenirs markets and or the historic Independence Palace before transfer to airport for your flight back home / next destination.
