Halong Bay To Angkor Wat 14 Days

Day 1 – Hanoi is welcoming you…

Welcome and xin chao to Hanoi, your tour guide will meet you at the airport, transfer to the hotel in the old quarter. Depending on your time of arrival the rest of the day is yours to start soaking up the local culture.

Day 2 – Halong Bay → Junk boat adventure

Start the actual tour and after breakfast, this morning, we are heading to Halong Bay where we will spend two days aboard a traditionally designed junk cruising amongst magnificent karst peaks on the tranquil green waters of Halong Bay. Activities include Tring Nu cave discovery, Kayaking and enjoy swimming in the freshwaters. This evening, we enjoy cooking demonstration on board and finally enjoy the delicious dinner.

Day 3 – Halong – Hanoi – Overnight Train to Hue

This morning, you may start your day with Tai Chi practice on the sundeck. After breakfast on board, we will explore the beautiful and spacious Sung Sot cave. Later, disembark and transfer back to Hanoi, then, we explore the French Quarter on cyclo (rickshaws ride), passing through infamous Opera house and Ly Thai To park and Trang Tien street. Next, we will have time to take a walk through ‘36 streets of the Hanoi old quarter’.

Later tonight, we head to the train station to board the Reunification express, check in and you’ll get a 4 berth sleeper cabin on basic standard to the central city of Hue.

Day 4 – Welcome to Imperial Hue

Hue is a dignified and scholarly city and often referred to as the epitome of Vietnam’s dynastic past. This morning, we will take a cyclo ride up to the imposing Imperial Citadel to explore ancient history, next, visit the UNESCO Royal Tomb of Minh Mang. Continue to the Thien Mu Pagoda before cruising on the Perfume river.

Day 5 – Hoi An & the Ocean Clouds

Leave Hue to Hoi An, taking a scenic route over the Hai Van Pass, known locally as the road of the ocean clouds, from here, you will be able to drive through the magnificent views of beach and the lush hillsides, we have a chance to stop at My Khe (China), beach. Continue toward Hoi An, arrive, check in, time to relax and refresh, next, we start a leisurely walking tour of the UNESCO listed historic town to see the elaborate Japanese Bridge, a number of local pagodas and the bustling night market.

Day 6 – Tra Que village & free time in Hoi An

This morning we will drive out (only 3km), into the countryside, those interested in cycling, can opt on a cycling ride, to the small farming community of Tra Que. Here you can enjoy the lush green countryside and see the farmers at work. Lunch served in a traditional restaurant. This afternoon can be spent on the nearby Cua Dai beach for relaxing and or with a free afternoon back in Hoi An.

Day 7 – Fly to Saigon, cruising the Mekong

Early check out and fly to Ho Chi Minh City via Danang (transfer 30 km). Upon arrival, we travel to the Mekong Delta. The region is known as the rice basket of Vietnam and its famous for its refreshing tropical fruits, flowers and vegetables. Upon check in, we follow the fantastic views on the local Sampan from Cai Be, downstream to Can Tho, through the lush coconut waterways, we then stop to visit some highlights of the tour including popcorn productions, coconut candies and much more. Lunch is served in a traditional house on Dong Hoa Hiep Island.

Day 8- Mekong to Ho Chi Minh City

This morning after breakfast we check out and depart to Ho Chi Minh City before visiting the bustling Cai Rang floating market, where the local life is only on the waterways. Arrive, check in, short rest and later on a guided walking tour we will visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office and the chilling War Remnants Museum.

Day 9 – Chu Chi Tunnels to Phnom Penh

Today, for an excursion, you will get to grips with the secrets of guerrilla fighters at the Cu Chi Tunnels, activities including, shooting the AK47, visiting the underground tunnels (safely remodeled for visitors). Next, drive to the border, crossing at Moc Bai/Bavet, and carry on to Phnom Penh. Capital city of Cambodia.

The city offers a beautiful array of boulevards and colonial buildings. Check in, enjoy the rest of the day and evening on your own.

Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It was constructed over a century ago to serve as the residence of the King of Cambodia, his family and foreign dignitaries, as a venue for the performance of court ceremony and ritual and as a symbol of the Kingdom. It serves to this day as the Cambodian home of King Norodom Sihamoni and former King Norodom Sihanouk.

Day 10- Phnom Penh Private Tour

Visit the magnificent Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda before admiring the artifacts at the lovely National Museum. Later, Tuol Sleng, the Prison – S21, in an old school building to which transformed into a torture chamber under the Khmer Rouge by Pol Pot, then, visit tragic Killing Fields where over thousands of Khmer were executed.

Day 11- Fly to Siem Reap, home to Angkor wat

Early transfer to the airport for a short flight to Siem Reap, arrive and check in at our hotel, short rest and relax, after, we take a guided tour to visit the magnificent Angkor National Museum showcasing the Angkorian treasures and Khmer cultures.

Next, we head to the center of the Khmer Empire from 9th and 15th centuries, the Angkor archaeological complex includes over countless temples (some says 1000’s). Start the discovery at Ta Prohm, a beautifully craved temple in the middle of the tropical jungle, next, visit Angkor Thom to take a tour at the enigmatic Bayon, the Elephant Terrace and the Leper King. End the full day temple touring, transfer to the hotel, time to chill and relax.

There are plenty of cozy bars and restaurants in the city centre, easily accessible on foot.

The Tonle Sap lake, in Cambodia, is one of the most unique ecological water wonders in the world. It is the largest lake in South East Asia and changes in size and dimension every wet season. That's why the houses are on stilts.

Day 12- Tonle Sap and floating villages

Spend the morning experiencing life on the water on a boat tour in the floating village of Kampong Phluk floating villages, some 20 km from Siem Reap.Here, houses, schools, Karaokes, police stations and pretty much anything is built on the water. Drive back to the city after serving lunch.

Note: The Tonle floating area’s plan of visit varies depending on high and low water season.

Day 13- Free day at your leisure in Siem Reap

Enjoy the free day at your own leisure and plan, perhaps, take time for local shopping, take a relaxing massage and or take in some of the delight bars and cafes.

People's Committee Building - Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - French colonial city hall built in the early 1900s, now the headquarters of the People's Committee. Top tourist attraction being located so close to the cathedral.

Day 14- Siem Reap – Departure

Today, the tour Halong Bay to Angkor Wat comes to an end, enjoy the leisure breakfast before hotel check out and departure transfer to the airport.
