There are no activities planned for today as many people will be arriving at different times throughout the day and evening.

Day 2 Hanoi

After breakfast we will gather for a meeting before taking the bus across the Red River for a countryside bicycle tour. After a local lunch we will introduce you to Hanoi’s fascinating Old Quarter and in the evening we will share a welcome dinner together. 15km cycling.

Day 3 Hue

An early start to the day with a transfer to the Hanoi airport for a morning flight to Hue where we will enjoy an early lunch. Hue is a peaceful central city that has a fascinating history, beginning with it’s ancient Cham origins, to becoming the capital of Vietnam until 1945, and the site of one of the bloodiest and longest battles of the Vietnam War in 1968. Today Hue is regarded as the cultural and spiritual capital of the country and has been recognised by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site. After lunch we will take a leisurely bicycle ride through the picturesque countryside of this charming historical town. 20km cycling

Day 4 Lang Co

Our ride today takes us past lush rice paddies and along country roads where delighted children thrill to see us riding past. In the afternoon we will arrive at the Lang Co Beach Resort where we can enjoy our first swim in the Eastern Sea. This isolated and pristine beach is perfect for a well-deserved swim. 87km cycling.

Day 5 Hoi An

Your strength is required for today’s challenge of Hai Van Pass, which rewards you with stunning coastal views. You will climb to 496 m (1,627 ft) on a road quoted in the Top Gear Program as “a deserted ribbon of perfection—one of the best coast roads in the world.” Then you will enjoy a thrilling downhill ride into Da Nang, home of the busiest air base in the world at the height of the war in the 1960’s. We travel past Marble Mountain on our way to the paradise village of Hoi An. Our accommodation is at the Golden Sands Resort, which boasts a 150m swimming pool. 73km cycling.

Day 6 Hoi An

Hoi An is a charming World Heritage village that will captivate you immediately. No matter what you like you will find it here, whether it is shopping, restaurants, photography, history, architecture, handicrafts or lazing around. Your day here is free to enjoy

Day 7 Hoi An

Another day in paradise. You may choose to lounge by the pool of our luxury resort, swim on the beach in front of the resort or indulge in a massage, facial and pedicure. For those wanting action there is an optional easy ride into the surrounding countryside or a more challenging ride back up to the mighty Hai Van Pass. Other options include scuba, snorkeling, abseiling, sailing or tailoring and shopping. Cultural options include My Son ancient ruins, historical walking tour of Hoi An or Marble Mountain. This evening we will celebrate with a BBQ dinner togethe

Day 8 Tam Ky

Our adventure today begins with a boat trip to the back roads of the central coast. Away from the main highway we travel along a quiet road hugging the coastline and through sand dune landscapes. We will have lunch in a local restaurant overlooking a remote beach which rarely sees western tourists. Upon arrival at the hotel we can relax with a luxurious massage. 80km cycling.

Day 9 Sa Huyen

It is harvesting time in this region so there is much activity in the rice fields, giving you an insight into the industrious lives of the local farmers. Continuing on the back roads of the coast we cycle to the site of one of the darkest moments of the Vietnam War – the My Lai Massacre Memorial. This evening we spend the night at the Sa Huynh Beach Resort, situated right at the water’s edge. 89km cycling.

Day 10 Quy Nhon

A fascinating day of diversity with the route passing chilli plantations, salt pans, long mountain roads, village laneways and sand dunes. Our local lunch is in a tiny beachside village where we can enjoy the cool sea breeze. After lunch we continue past a large lagoon with shrimp farms and across fabulously long bridges. Tonight we celebrate with a pool-side bbq with entertainment. 107km cycling.

Day 11 Nha Trang

After an early breakfast we launch the bikes for the first hill climb, one of many today, which hug the coast offering stunning views and downhill races on wide, smooth surfaces. A swim before lunch rewards us with a delicious banquet luncheon at a beachside restaurant. The picturesque afternoon ride finishes with a challenging hill climb up Fish Pass and a race to the top. 72km cycling.

Day 12 Nha Trang

This morning we will have a well-deserved sleep in before boarding our bus to the remote pristine Bai Dai Beach, 19 km south of Nha Trang. We spend the day swimming in clear turquoise waters and feasting on an endless barbeque and free flowing soft drink, beer & pina coladas.

Day 13 Ho Chi Minh City

Today we leave behind the beaches and fly to Vietnam’s largest city, Ho Chi Minh City. Also referred to by its previous name, Saigon, this city was once known as “The Pearl of The Orient’ when it was the capital of the French colony of Cochin-China. It is definitely a case of big city, bright lights and is a marvelous contrast to the coastal scenery. A final dinner together completes your memorable adventure in Vietnam.
